Looking to get involved next semester? Ever wanted to be involved in a highly esteemed organization without the strenuous time commitment? One that allows you to make a difference, showcase your academic excellence, inspire people by sharing your life experience, give back to your community/campus, develop professionalism, and network with scholars, high-net donors, influential alumni, and campus leaders? Well....here is your chance!
We encourage you to consider serving on the newly established Campaign for Berkeley’s Student Advisory Committee (CFBSAC), Student Affairs Division. Here is an opportunity for you to represent the student body, become directly involved with the undergraduate scholarship campaign, and network/share your experience at CAL with various campus leaders, donors, and fellow undergraduates. Please take some time to read over a brief group description below....
The Campaign for Berkeley, Division of Student Affairs Campaign for Access and Student Life, Student Advisory Committee (CFBSAC)
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
As the Student Ambassadors of the Campaign for Berkeley Student Advisory Committee, we will serve as the ‘face’ and ‘voice’ of the scholarship campaign by promoting and embracing alumni-student relations, spreading the unconditional belief in the spirit of giving, and helping sustain the University’s accessibility and its prominent position in the nation as the leading learning public institution.
CFBSAC PROFILE
The CFBSAC was formed in Spring 2009 under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Harry LeGrande, Executive Director of Student Affairs Development Maryellen Himmell, and their student liaison. The group is composed of Student Ambassadors who are either scholarship recipients, or non-recipients who still feel the impact of philanthropy and scholarship aid. We realize that CAL is largely supported by alumni and private giving; scholarships and aid affect our educational experience, and lives as a whole, in drastic ways. We believe that placing importance on philanthropy and increasing the spirit of giving back within students NOW will help this University for years to come.
